One building, a different job every day

Worship spaces in Vallejo come in many shapes: long-standing sanctuaries near downtown, chapels on quiet residential streets, congregations meeting in former storefronts along the commercial corridors, and campuses that pair a sanctuary with a gym, a school wing or a parish hall.

What they share is a weekly rhythm unlike an office’s. Sunday or Saturday worship, a midweek meal, choir practice, youth night and a recital can all pass through the same rooms within a few days. Vallejo Janitorial builds the cleaning plan on that calendar, so each room is ready for whatever comes next.

Sanctuary, pews and the platform

The sanctuary gets the most careful pass of the week. Crews dust and wipe pew backs, armrests and seats, clear bulletins and offering envelopes out of the racks, and straighten hymnals and Bibles as they go. Kneelers, chair rows and the communion rail are wiped, and the pulpit, lectern, altar steps and platform edges are dusted by hand.

Carpeted aisles are vacuumed wall to wall, including under the pews where crumbs and dropped programs gather. Tile and hardwood near the platform are cleared of grit, then damp-mopped with a cleaner suited to the finish, and wood trim, window sills and the sound booth are dusted. Balconies and choir lofts join the route on the weeks they are used, and interior glass at the doors is polished free of handprints.

Fellowship hall and the church kitchen

After a potluck, a reception or a Wednesday supper, the fellowship hall needs a full reset. Tabletops are washed, chairs are cleaned and put away in the stacks or rows your team prefers, spills are lifted, and the hall floor is swept, then mopped out to every baseboard. Trash and recycling go out so nothing lingers into the next morning.

In the kitchen, counters, sinks and serving windows are scrubbed, appliance fronts and handles get a wipe, and the tile is degreased along the cook line and in front of the dish sink. Vinyl tile in a busy hall keeps its shine longer with a machine scrub every few months, or a full strip and new finish from our floor care crew.

Nursery, classrooms and youth rooms

Sunday school rooms and the nursery are cleaned with the youngest visitors in mind. Low tables, chairs, cubbies and changing tables are wiped, crib rails and play mats are cleaned, child-height sinks and toilets are scrubbed, and carpet is vacuumed for the families arriving on the weekend. Youth rooms get their couches, game tables and floors brought back after the week’s gatherings.

Every crew member who enters these rooms is background-checked, and a supervisor includes the children’s wing in the routine quality inspections that cover the whole church.

Offices, restrooms and the front entrance

The church office, the pastor’s study, the library and any meeting rooms are dusted, emptied and vacuumed on the weekday route. Restrooms get cleaning and disinfection on sinks, toilets, partitions and the floor, and paper, soap and liners are restocked with your own stock or with supplies we provide.

The narthex or lobby is where newcomers form their first impression, so entry mats are vacuumed, glass doors are cleared of smudges, the welcome table and literature racks get dusted, and the lobby floor is left bright. Front steps, courtyards and the walk from the lot can be washed down by our pressure washing crew before a festival or a busy holiday weekend.

Timed around services, weddings and funerals

A plan for a weekend congregation puts the main clean late in the week, so the sanctuary and restrooms are fresh for the weekend, plus a lighter Monday visit to reset the fellowship hall and classrooms after the crowds. Midweek events can add a short visit on the following morning.

Weddings, memorial services, concerts and holiday services such as Christmas and Easter are booked as added visits before or after the event. On days that draw a full house, a day porter stays through the event to watch the restrooms, empty bins and handle spills while guests are still in the building.

Building a plan that fits the budget

Church cleaning is priced on floor area, the count of weekly services and gatherings, how hard the fellowship hall and kitchen work, the balance of carpet to tile, and how many holiday and event visits you add during the year.

Walk the building with us on a weekday afternoon. You get a weekly schedule, an event calendar for weddings and holidays, and the carpet and hall-floor work priced on their own, so the council can add pieces as the budget allows.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

Can you have the sanctuary ready ahead of Sunday worship?

Yes. Book the main visit for the end of the week, Friday night or early Saturday, and the crew finishes the sanctuary, restrooms and entrance before the first service.

Do you clean up after weddings, funerals and receptions?

Yes. Event visits are booked on their own, either right after the guests leave or early the next morning, and cover the hall, kitchen, restrooms and any rooms the event used.

Who will be cleaning the nursery and the kids' classrooms?

Crew members who have passed a background check, with a supervisor looking over those rooms during routine quality checks.

Can you deep clean the carpet in the aisles and classrooms?

Yes. Aisles, classrooms and the fellowship hall can be scheduled for commercial carpet cleaning between services, so the carpet is dry before the congregation returns.

Our congregation meets in a leased commercial space. Does the plan change?

The plan is sized to the space. A storefront church usually needs one weekly visit for the worship room, restrooms and entry, with event visits added when you host something larger.
