From shopping-center clubs to the campus gym

Vallejo trains everywhere from shopping-center clubs and boutique studios to campus and community gyms.

Every one of them collects sweat, skin oil and damp air on the surfaces members grip, sit on and walk across.

Wet rooms: lockers, showers and restrooms

Members form their opinion of a club in the locker room, so each visit begins there. Crews scrub shower walls, pans and benches, brush out the corners where mildew likes to start, and pull hair from the drain grates. Locker doors and handles are wiped, sink counters and mirrors are buffed, then the floor is mopped and dried before anyone crosses it barefoot.

Toilets, urinals, stall walls and sinks get cleaning followed by disinfection; tissue, towels and hand soap are topped up from our supplies or yours. Changing rooms that open onto a pool deck get extra attention to wet tile and the puddles that form at their doors. Baby-changing tables, hand dryers, scales and coat hooks are wiped on the same pass.

Machines, racks, mats and rubber floors

Out on the floor, equipment comes before the floor. Crews follow the circuit a member would, starting with treadmill rails, bike bars and saddles, elliptical handles, rower grips and every display, then moving to the strength side: handles, seat cushions, back pads, weight-stack pins, adjustment levers and the uprights people steady themselves on. Barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, plate holders and benches are wiped with a disinfectant safe for chrome, steel and upholstery.

Rubber floors, whether rolled or tiled, get a vacuum pass for chalk and grit and then a damp clean with a neutral product, so they stay grippy instead of slick. Sled lanes are vacuumed, plyo boxes, foam rollers and medicine balls are cleaned, and martial arts and grappling mats get a full disinfecting wipe once the night’s last class is over. Vinyl tile in lobbies and corridors can be scrubbed by machine or stripped and refinished by our floor care crew.

Group rooms, mirrors and the check-in counter

Group rooms are reset after the final evening class. Mirror walls are cleaned from the base trim up to the top edge, bikes, barres, steps and reformers are wiped, sound cabinets and cubbies are dusted, and each floor surface gets its own method. Interior glass, studio doors and the storefront windows facing the parking lot are left streak-free.

Up front, scanners, the counter, retail racks and the waiting chairs are wiped down, and the walk-in mats are vacuumed out. Staff rooms, the manager’s office and coaching areas have their sinks, appliances and tables cleaned and their trash emptied on the same route.

Timed to your members

If your club locks up at night, crews clean from the last member out to the first one through the door. Studios and martial arts schools are cleaned after their final class, and campus and community gyms are cleaned around their own calendars.

Open-all-night gyms keep their doors open while we work. The building is split into sections: one locker room is cleaned while its partner serves members, cardio rows are cleaned a bank at a time, and the free-weight area gets its deepest pass in the quiet stretch before dawn.

During the evening rush, porter coverage can keep dispensers full, empty the bins by the cardio rows and mop up locker room tile as the peak crowd comes through.

Clubs, studios and fitness rooms

The work spans warehouse-size clubs and round-the-clock gyms down to boxing gyms, climbing walls, CrossFit boxes and compact yoga, cycling and pilates rooms. Each plan is built on what fills your floor: climbing walls and crash pads, a rack-and-rig setup, spin bikes or a wall-to-wall mat room.

Fitness rooms inside offices, apartment communities and campus buildings join the same plan, as do rehab gyms with plinths, therapy steps and exercise stations. Recreation buildings run by public agencies follow the public-hours approach on our government building cleaning page, and an added round of disinfection and sanitizing fits any room that needs it.

What drives the cost of gym cleaning

A gym’s price comes from its size and its traffic: square footage, visits per week, locker rooms and showers, studio and equipment zones, 24-hour operation, its floor surfaces, and the porter hours you add.

A quiet-hour visit to your facility gives us the details, and the written quote shows porter hours and periodic floor care as separate items.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

Do you clean locker rooms that serve a pool deck?

Yes. Changing rooms beside a pool get their wet tile, benches, lockers and showers scrubbed and dried, and the floor at each doorway is kept clear of standing water.

How are cycling bikes and reformers cleaned?

Each one is wiped from the handlebars or footbar down to the frame and base, with seats, straps and screens included, once the final class has cleared out.

Can cleaning happen while our gym stays open all night?

Yes. The building is cleaned in sections, one locker room and one cardio bank at a time, and the deepest work goes into the hours before dawn.

Will cleaning products damage our rubber flooring?

No. Rubber is vacuumed and then cleaned with a neutral product that lifts sweat and chalk without drying it out or leaving a slick film.

Can an office or apartment fitness room be added to our building's route?

Yes. A fitness room inside an office, apartment community or campus building joins the building’s regular route with a checklist of its own.
